Three ways to bloom

Tap a format and watch it come together. These are workshop ideas, not a fixed menu: the formats on offer are confirmed to waitlist members.

Flowers, vases, frames, baskets and tools are typically on the table. The confirmed list is shared with waitlist members once dates are announced.

Preserved flower frames

Arrange pressed and dried blooms, ferns and little leaves under glass in a white frame, ready for an easel or a shelf. Quiet, tactile work with tweezers and patience.

  • Choose blooms and leaves from the table
  • Lay them out first, then settle each piece into place
  • Close the glass and frame it

Frame sizes and what is included are confirmed to waitlist members.

Vase arrangements

Build a full, rounded arrangement in a white pedestal vase with floral foam, shears and greenery. Start with the structure, place the focal blooms, then fill in until it feels right.

  • Prepare the foam and a base of greenery
  • Cut stems to length and place the focal blooms
  • Fill the gaps, step back and adjust

Flowers typically vary by session. The list is shared with waitlist members.

Woven flower baskets

Fill a woven basket with foam and fresh stems, then finish it with a ribbon on the handle. A relaxed, gift-ready format.

  • Set the foam in the basket
  • Layer greenery, then flowers, in loose rows
  • Tie the ribbon and add the final touches

Basket styles and sizes are confirmed to waitlist members.

The table

A long table, soft light, good company

Picture a long kraft-paper table by a big window: shears and spools of ribbon within reach, bowls of leaves and loose petals, a cup of tea going cold because you are absorbed.

Everything happens at the table. It is an indoor, table-craft idea, so there is no field walk and nothing to rush. Come with a friend or come on your own; the pace is yours.

Slow hands, a quiet table, something lovely to carry home.

Prepare your base

Set up the frame backing, soak the foam or settle it into the basket. A good base makes everything else easier.

Trim and place

Cut stems with the shears, or lift small dried blooms with tweezers, and place them one by one.

Add the finishing touches

A sprig of greenery, a ribbon, a last tiny bloom in the gap. This is where it turns into yours.

Look at it from a distance, adjust, then carry it home. Care tips are shared with members.

Questions

Good to know

Which flowers will we use?

It depends on the format and on what is available. The flower and greenery list is shared with waitlist members when a session is announced, and nothing here is a promise until it is confirmed.

What is the difference between preserved and fresh?

Frames are planned to use pressed and dried flowers that last, while vase arrangements and baskets typically use fresh stems. Which format runs, and with what, is confirmed to waitlist members.

Can I take my piece home?

That is the idea: the frame, arrangement or basket you make is meant to go home with you. What exactly is included is confirmed to waitlist members when a session is announced.

I have allergies. Can I still join?

Please tell us in the form or write to us. Flowers and greenery will be around, so we cannot guarantee a flower-free or allergen-free space.

Do I need experience?

No experience is assumed. The sessions are planned to be friendly to first-timers; we will share how each format works when dates are announced.

Can I give a session as a gift?

Tick "Gift" in the form and tell us in the request box. Whether gift options exist is confirmed to waitlist members.

Are the dates set?

Not yet. The waitlist comes first: members are told the dates, venue and price (if any) before anyone else.

Can I book with friends or a group?

Please ask each person to join the waitlist (tick "With a friend") so we can keep you all posted. Group options are confirmed to members.

Is it for kids?

The workshops are planned for adults aged 18 and above.

Who do I contact?

Write to welcome@manilaopenhouse.com or text or call 0917 719 0009 (replies in business hours).

What happens to my data?

It is used only for the waitlist and updates about this workshop, in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). It is not sold, and you can ask to see or delete it at any time.
