Venue to be confirmed — BGC / Taguig

Through flowers, ordinary moments become meaningful.
花や枝、葉の一つひとつが、アーティストの手によって美しく調和し、意味ある作品へと生まれ変わるのが生け花です。
In the hands of the artist, every material becomes beautiful and meaningful.
生け花 · About Ikebana
Ikebana (生け花) means “living flowers” — arranging flowers so that each stem is given life, seen and given room. It is the Japanese art of flowers, branches and leaves, practised as much for the calm it brings as for the arrangement it leaves behind.
Its roots reach back to Buddhist flower offerings made in temples. Over the centuries the practice grew into a formal art taught by many schools; Ikenobō is generally regarded as the oldest of them.
An ikebana arrangement is made as much of empty space as of flowers. Line, balance and the season carry the meaning, so even a few stems can say a great deal.
The quiet space around the stems is part of the design. Leave room, and every line can breathe.
One branch can lead the eye. Ikebana is built from lines — rising, curving, leaning — rather than masses of bloom.
Arrangements honour the time of year. What is in season, and how it grows, shapes what you make.
Many styles build an arrangement on three main lines, often read as heaven, human and earth, and find balance in asymmetry rather than symmetry.
小原流 · Ohara School of Ikebana
The Ohara School of Ikebana is a welcoming school of Japanese floral art that teaches people to create arrangements inspired by nature and the changing seasons. Founded by Unshin Ohara in the late nineteenth century, it encourages creativity, observation and appreciation for flowers in a calm and meaningful way.
The school is known for moribana — “piled-up flowers” arranged in a shallow container — which welcomed new flowers and materials into the art.
小原流いけばなは、日本の花の芸術を美しく、親しみやすく学べる流派です。自然や移ろう季節から着想を得た作品づくりを通して、創造性や観察力を育み、花への感謝と敬意を深めていきます。
A graceful arrangement style in the Ohara School that focuses on strong upright lines, balance and natural movement. It teaches how to place flowers and branches so that simple materials become something calming and alive.
The Workshop

You will learn the fundamentals of balance, movement, spacing, angles and harmony using fresh seasonal materials, then build an arrangement of your own with guidance. Beginners and flower enthusiasts are welcome, and no prior experience is needed.
All materials and tools for the session are provided, and you leave with your completed arrangement and a quieter afternoon.
